It is much better to buy the set with all 3 together ie. book, cassette and CD as this provides you with the most flexibility - that of listening and/or more visual effects, although there are very limited titles currently to choose from. Description from Amazon.com Customer Review While this is NOT an "Animated Storybook" with all the fluff and interaction, it is FAR more useful as a teaching tool, and really mimics the experience of reading a book...but with wonderful flexibility and a great price. Not only does it come with an audio tape, but the CD can play on a standard CD player, in addition to visually presenting the entire story visually on the computer. The story is told with a full character cast, along with excellent, quality narration. So far, I have not even let my students know that it contains narration and character voices, because we've been having so much fun reading it aloud in class using a computer projector! As a teacher, and was thrilled to see how my class of second graders embraced the experience, even though most of them have seen the movie...with all it's animation and sound. They were simply reading the content and seeing teh still pictures--yet they loved every minute of it, and complained when we ran out of time and had to stop in the middle of the story. My hope is that Disney will continue to produce these sets for ALL of their animated movie titles. If they do, you can bet I'll be snapping up every single one of them. HIGHLY recommended! Take away the ferocious leopard, an angry ape or two, and a bounty-hunting bad guy, and you're left with a love story: Tarzan (voiced by Tony Goldwyn), orphaned in the jungle, is adopted by apes Kerchak (Lance Henriksen) and Kala (Glenn Close). As he comes of age, simian siblings Terk (Rosie O'Donnell) and Tantor (Wayne Knight) school him in the ways of the savages, so that when Jane (Minnie Driver) arrives with her father (Nigel Hawthorne) and their jungle guide (Brian Blessed) on an expedition, she's bewildered by his beastliness. But she also finds him kind of cute. Cut to a couple of human, baboon, and gorilla chases, gunshots from a human who turns out to be more savage than the savages, and a storybook ending for the sweethearts, and this becomes rope-'em-in, sweep-'em-along, snip-off-the-loose-ends Disney escapism, the kind you can set your clock by. Or, in this case, your computer. Besides the booklet and tape combo, the tidily packaged Tarzan Read-Along houses a CD you can substitute for the cassette or slip into your CD-ROM drive.
